· Is able to perform medical assistant duties as outlined below
Minimum qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Current Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) preferred
· One year of clinical medical experience required
· Willing to be cross trained to work front and back office
· Experience with EMR
· CPR Certification preferred
Responsibilities include:
· Obtain vital signs and completes appropriate documentation in medical records
· Perform skin testing, spirometry, patch testing
· Administer allergy injections, biologic injections
· Prepare patients for examination and treatment
· Perform allergy skin prick and intradermal testing, spirometry, patch testing
· Perform food and drug challenges
· Perform patient education on asthma and allergic conditions
· Monitor patients for possible adverse reactions from allergy injections
· Answer phones and schedule appointments
· Greet patients upon arrival and during check out
· Collect copays and patient balances
· Perform insurance eligibility checks
· Responds to messages and faxes in a timely manner, assists with patient questions
· Follow up on prior authorizations and insurance authorizations
· Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations
· Maintain patient confidentiality
· Provide assistance to physician when requested
· Performs all other tasks and projects as assigned by physician and supervisor
